Common tasks that you may perform include:
- Removing rough spots on vehicle panels
- Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
- Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper
- Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
- Applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
- Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
- Removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
- Painting signs and artwork on vehicles
- Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience as a Vehicle Painter
- Must have sand blasting experience or proficient in operating sandblasting equipment safely and effectively.
- Must have familiarity with various sandblasting tools, equipment, abrasives, and paints to achieve the desired surface finish.
- Must be skilled in spray painting (using spray guns, brushers, rollers), paint mixing, primer application, and different types of coatings according to specifications.
- Good English communication skills
- Must be able to drive a 4-wheel vehicle
- Must be able to provide work references and salary evidence
- High school diploma and at least a vocational diploma, or short course certificate
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience
